Dr. Spence has worked extensively with Guidant Corporation developing an anastomotic device and a cardiac exposure device for off-pump coronary artery bypass surgery marketed as Xpose.

He has founded five medical and medical device companies in the United States and abroad, and serves as a valued consultant for several others.
